Dear Dr. Cadiz,

Thanks so much for taking the time to read my work. Yes, I was your student in DevC 70 — some time in 1997-98, when you were still the dean. (My student number is 96-67458.) Your comments had my idea light bulbs glowing, inspired and encouraged to write more. I realize I need to maximize each opportunity to share lessons in life with the readers. Just to answer your question, though, I lost a lot of interest in my technical courses (poor choices on my part) plus there were some personal issues that got me all restless and discouraged… Thank you so much, Dr. Cadiz.

Hi Arlene — thanks for your invite to view your article — it’s touching and engaging, tho leaves me with more questions in the striving to pick out lessons — not just yours, but for me as reader: 1) what were the struggles in going back to school? would any of them feedback on the relevance of your curriculum, for instance? 2) would’ve wanted more about how your ’stopovers’ helped you, e.g., if i or any reader for that matter, is in same boat, what, from your insights, do we watch out for or take the most advantage of? 3) overall, i wish you could elaborate more on your lessons in life — wisdoms to guide others, whether educators, or life trekkers, from your vantage point. Keep at it, write some more. And congratulations on your graduation. (were you my student?)

Hi arlene!! I’m doing a litle research regarding the history of silang for my litlle girls assignment and your blog caught my attention. I still remember you during my childhood days, your a very smart kid. at a very young age you can spell the brands of the cigarettes in your store. My uncle simon is very proud of you he will always tell me na “matalino itong batabg ito”. Once in a while your tita pining visit us. Im not really sure if you still remember me, we live on the same street (j rizal sa ibaba lang kami ).
